How feasible is it to lateral from a boutique small firm (<10 lawyers) to biglaw?
"Boutique" in the sense that all the partners are ex-biglaw, similar hourly rates, big deals (middle market), somewhat recognized withun the market but not nationally, etc
I know it's harder going from small law firm to biglaw but it seems like this firm is basically functioning like a practice group of a biglaw firm.
Assume first year associate trying to lateral after a year or two

Find a recruiter to help you do the work?
What city? People can tell you of recruiters they liked.

Yeah I didn't think boutique corporate law firms (that bill at the same rate as biglaw) exist. Does it pay the same as biglaw? Considering they bill the same?

Do you want to stay in the same market? If so, I think you might have success if your firm is truly doing the same type of work as biglaw. If you are moving markets, the lack of name recognition could be a hindrance though. You will have to sell firms on the fact that you really have experience doing high level work and some firms may not even give you the chance. Hopefully in your current market people will know your firm and the level of work they do (if people in your market don't generally know your firm, then you probably aren't actually doing biglaw level of work).
