What to make of Kirkland's ATL ranking? Forum

It appears that K&E ranks much higher on the ATL law firm ranking than on Vault. Just curious how K&E is actually viewed in the market.

This is a bad post and you should feel bad. Vault is the premiere tool for decided legal dick-measuring contests. And ATL is an indispensable tool to to obsess over clerkships you're never going to get and determine if you are raceist.

A lot of people on TLS tout the V5 as the creme de la creme, but people in the know use the ATL4 as the true marker of a prestigious firm. I mean, 5 firms can't even have a two round sudden death tournament to determine who is best.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have ended up at the wrong firm for using the incorrect prestige distinction.

It's pretty easy to figure out if Vault matters to you: are you aiming for NYC corporate work? Yes -> then do whatever you can to scratch, claw, fight, your way up from V11 to V10, totes worth it. No -> then Vault is a really, really, really stupid and irrelevant way to make any decision ever.
