I got tired of the silence and took an offer that I already had at another firm. I'm sure I was on some waitlist, but I don't like being jerked around.

Ropes (different office) took almost a month to get back to me years back. Most likely radio silence = waitlist. I did end up getting an offer though. They have a large class so waitlist still gives you a good chance of acceptance.
