Say that you're available tomorrow or early next week. Absorb the inconvenience if they schedule you for next week.

Explain that you have a really busy schedule next week and would prefer tomorrow. That won't come off as desperate, and it may give the impression that you are busy with other interviews as well (you don't have to say what you are busy with, just that you are busy).

Re: Coming off as too desperate?
Would not worry about coming off as desperate - this is a rolling process and all of the firms I received CBs from strongly encouraged me to try to go in ASAP. I went from CB invitation Monday night to Thursday CB in one case and would have gone in even sooner had they had an earlier slot open.
