Paul Hastings, O'Melveny, or Pillsbury
Looking for general insight on how people view these firms as good places to work, especially if looking to stay more than just a few years.
I am in the Bay Area.
Thanks!

I'm sure this is obvious, but within the Bay Area each of these firms have two offices. And where your offer is, between the two offices, will impact the advice quite a bit. Are you willing to specify the offices for which you have offers to? We can help more if so.

OMM over the other two, both of which seem to not be not doing well financially.

Paul Hastings isn't doing well financially? Are you talking about those specific offices?Jchance wrote:OMM over the other two, both of which seem to not be not doing well financially.

OP:
Not sure I want to give too much on specifics, but I have applied to some firms in the Valley, with that being the case, how do TLSers view the Valley as opposed to SF in regards to these firms generally speaking?
IMO they were all great and the people were very nice...trying to figure out best way to make a solid decision.

PH is doing fine financially. Just bleeding associates left and right because it's a shitty place to work.

Associate in SV. OMM has a strong presence here than the other two

PH SF is not a shitty place to work lol. I have heard negative reviews of the LA office, but the SF office is a great place to work.

Can someone give some specifics on PH LA - lots of chatter but nothing specific other than innuendo...i.e. why is is a shitty place to work?

If I had to choose among the several offices (SV and SF of all three), I would go with OMM SV. Their corporate practice is very respected and while I have heard the partnership is rocky financially, if you're just looking to hang for a few years you'll be fine.Anonymous User wrote:Associate in SV. That doesn't say much about anything...it is just a circular firing squad without specifics....if it is just based off of associates leaving w/o any specifics that doesn't say much - is it because people were unhappy they went to glass offices with associates on the inside? Or has it been something more pernicious and systemic?SmokeytheBear wrote:Look in this thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... #p10112193Anonymous User wrote:Can someone give some specifics on PH LA - lots of chatter but nothing specific other than innuendo...i.e. why is is a shitty place to work?
