Top 25% at T2: Shot at BigLaw?
Hey all - as headline says, I'm a rising 2L in the top 25% of a T2 school (60s/70s). Also URM (not sure if that matters), and WE prior to law school. Secondary journal; no moot court. Am I out of luck for big law? If not, are there some T2-friendly firms that should be prioritized?

Need more info. Where is your school located? What is your target market? What percent of your school gets big law?
Not all T2 schools are created equal. For instance, Brooklyn law - ranked much lower than your school, does well enough in new york (not great at all, but several nyc big law placements) where a school like University of Kansas (in your school range) will do very poorly in New York (as in zero SAs).
This is coming from T2 grad.

Not OP but I'm top 25% at a TT as well. In NY though. Symplicity had a lot of firms with "top 25% required" cutoffs and I thought I'd get some interview invites but got none from them. Only got one from a mid-sized firm that does professional liability...kind of depressing. Nothing from mass mailing. Thought I'd have more bites than this.

Ya, I wasn't saying that a top 25% student would do well in new york either. But the blanket question "Do I have a chance at biglaw as a T2 student; top 25% grades?" simply can't be answered w/ any precision.Anonymous User wrote:Not OP but I'm top 25% at a TT as well. If OP wants a macro answer, the chances are very slim and the way to get to that job is via networking and hustling. But there are definitely some T2 schools that place well in their regional market.
