ADHD and PTSD has me worried about taking meds in the workplace
Lowered my antidepressant dose to me more human and vulnerable, but now my PTSD anxiety is haunting me a bit more and my psych gave me xanax 0.25 mg. I interviewed on Adderall XR 25 mg with xanax for anxiety and minimal antidepressant dose and got the job, but my family is convincing me (some of the abusers) that im better on a lower antidepressant dose and more approachable, yet i seek validation again and on higher dose I don't. My doc just gave me Effexor XR an SNRI but afraid to try it with my job starting this week. All my scripts are legal i just dont know what's right or wrong here, thanks!

I think you should probably listen to the person with a medical degree. I don't know what you mean being "more human and vulnerable" or "more approachable" and "seeking validation" and how they relate to your job. Antidepressants don't make you less "human and vulnerable," they make you less depressed.

Going on anti-anxiety medication is the best thing I've ever done in my life. I'm on the perfect dose of SNRI for me and anyone who tells me I shouldn't can fuck off it literally changed my life.
If your medication is making you feel like a zombie but the lower dose isn't helping, listen to your doctor and try different medications. If your medication makes you your best self, stick with it. And if your family asks tell them that you are not discussing it with them. They don't need to know.

Have you tried the SSRI antidepressants before and found that they made you more lethargic? I have both Zoloft and Effexor and I hear withdrawals from Effexor are absolutely brutal but I seem more clear on it than Zoloft?

You quoted your name. I fixed it here if you want to take it out of your top one.Anonymous User wrote:Anon wrote:Have you tried the SSRI antidepressants before and found that they made you more lethargic? This is actually my first round and I got lucky. I have corbid ADHD/Anxiety and I don't respond to stimulants. After we tried everything under the sun for that we tried wellbutrin which I didn't care for then went to pure SRNI. It doesn't make me lethargic but I did have a bit of an adjustment and if I miss a dose past 14 hours I do start getting headaches. I don't worry about withdrawals because I don't plan to stop and if I do I'll taper down with a doctors supervision. If you like Effexor and your body likes it, stay with it. I stopped looking up people's experiences on meds because it seems like everyone just posts really negative brutal side affects when most of the time it won't happen. They're the very vocal minority.
Messing around with meds you have to be patient. It can take a few months and that's okay but you just have to be patient pushing through. I spent six months trying to find the right combination and when it finally kicked in it was awesome. I don't have experience with what you're on, I'm on a different one, but while you've got some time it's good to talk openly with your doctor, try adjusting your dose and meds.

Thank you for sharing. I wonder if you tried Zoloft or Lexapro the first line anxiety treatment for anxiety you'd feel better? Is Effexor XR the SNRI you are using? I have to decide on which one to use for tomorrow either up my Zoloft 25 to 50 mg to tolerate my stimulant medication of the Effexor XR 75 mg instead but the N in SNRI causes more jitters yet kills lethargy.. fml, docs leaving it up to meAnonymous User wrote:You quoted your name.
