Reception Events

Post by middleawkward123 » Fri Jun 16, 2017 7:40 pm

If your GPA does not even meet the firms' requirement, is it worth to go to their reception events?
How likely is it that you get the upper hand by meeting someone at these events?

Thanks!

You very likely don't get an upper hand, unless you're someone uniquely likable.

But going to receptions will help you practice talking to lawyers, understanding BigLaw, and I feel that helped me immensely during OCI later that summer.
