Big Firms in Fresno?

Post by abraham559 » Wed Jun 07, 2017 3:13 pm

Anyone know of the bigger firms in Fresno, CA? I am thinking of doing a 2L summer there but my OCI has no Fresno firms listed. Ideally I want to narrow it down to the best with the most pay of course, and ability to move up the ranks. Thanks!

McCormick recruited on campus at Hastings this year. Students who were offered callbacks were also told that they needed to pay their own roundtrip transportation to/from SF and Fresno. Ridiculous and super cheap way to court a potential future associate.

Any idea what any of these firms pay? Is the work/life balance better here? Do you know people at any of these firms?

McCormick 78k
Wanger Jones 85k
Dowling Aaron $85k
Baker (unsure)

I don’t think baker has a set summer program like the other 3. Above figures are approximate and about a year old, but should give you an idea of what to expect.

Above figures ... should give you an idea of what to expect.
Are these figures for summer associates or for new attorney associates?

Logic suggests those figures are for first-years. No SA gig is going to pay out $78-85k over 8-12 weeks. Even at a $190k-paying firm, a 12-week SA gig would work out to slightly under $44k for 12 weeks (and most SA positions are 10 weeks, not 12).
