Staffing times
Junior patent litigation associate at a large and busy firm. Case was super busy, so much that I didn't take on anything else. Case disappeared. I'm way over hours, but stressing a bit about getting more work. It's been about 2 weeks, but I took vacation time for most of it and only seriously started putting out feelers this week. I currently have no billable work, and am considering some pro-bono and am doing non-billable article writing to fill the time, but it's boring being at work with no work. I know there are a lot of factors and every situation is different, but how long does it usually take to get staffed on another case? Trying to balance enjoying some slow time with stressing to find new work. Any anecdotes are welcome.
