When does the billable year start/end at biglaw firms?

Also, if I lateral in August to a firm whose billable year ends in October, will my prorated bonus be determined based on my billables through October or through the end of the year?

For a lateral you seem not to know a ton. You get prorated only for the firms billable year and firms have different starts for their billable year. So yes, just billables through october
