2L Hoping to Land Big Law Job in 3L Year

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Mar 29, 2017 9:52 pm

I am a 2L at a low ranked law school. I have a 3.619 GPA, top 15% of my class and I have a good in-house externship at a defense company. I'm looking to be at a big law firm upon graduation. What are my chances?

That was my point. You didn't provide enough info for anyone to chance you on Biglaw, and beyond that, when you're talking about "low-ranked law schools" it's entirely about networking and mass mailing. From what you've provided, you missed out on OCI, so your chances aren't as good as they would've been, but that's why you need to hustle now.

Your chances are slim to none. It would take a confluence of extremely unlikely events for you to get a job in biglaw from your current position. Sorry to be blunt, but that's the truth. You can try to make it happen through networking and luck, but you're probably better off focusing your time and energy on another track.
