Recruiting website and job posts

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Feb 15, 2017 5:38 pm

I have a resume up on a recruiting website.

Recently saw a job posting on a firm site that is also on the recruiting site.

Am I allowed to apply directly to the firm? The recruiting site has only approved my resume and I have not used them to apply or do anything at all.

If I use the recruiter, how does it work? Do they take a fee or does the firm pay them? if the firm pays them, wouldn't it make more sense for me to apply directly? Or does the recruiter do a good job getting my "foot in the door"?
