But isn't an elevator speech going to be personal to you and your interests/goals/experiences/qualifications?
(I also find the concept not very helpful, because although you do need to think about what you have to offer, packaged soundbites are less effective than actually having conversations with people.)

Yes, but it's certain points that every industry values, right? I know in undergrad each school had a specific outline that we followed.A. Nony Mouse wrote:But isn't an elevator speech going to be personal to you and your interests/goals/experiences/qualifications?

In my opinion the elevator speech is horribly outmoded. It's something that babyboomers still teach because it was taught to them in the 1980's as an effective way to sell themselves.
Edit:Also what nony said.
