Currently I'm a 2L at Maurer, SA lined up at a smaller firm that I'm not interested in for the long haul. Anyone have any input on what it's like as a 3L on the job market, specifically from Maurer (or schools similarly ranked), looking for a position with a mid sized firm after graduation? I have strong ties to the Chicago area but wouldn't be opposed to other locations.

Is the smaller firm in chicago? If not, I'd strongly consider seeking other 2L summer options. Some smaller chicago firm hiring may not be complete yet. Being in chicago will give you an opportunity to network in the city during the summer. May (or may not) open some doors.
