Im currently a couple years in at a major market biglaw shop and am considering a move to a smaller(ish) city for lifestyle reasons
Does anyone know what the typical midlevel and senior associate salary are for Richmond (have dtrong family ties to the city and was told its a great place for lit) or other secondary cities (Detroit, Minneapolis etc).
For Richmond its easy to find information on first and second year salaries for places like McGuire or Hunton & Williams but not beyond that. Im sure its lower than NYC pay (esp with bonuses) but does anyone know how much lower

Re: Secondary market salary progression (Richmond etc)
Currently in detroit. Starting salary here ranges from 105k (regional firm) - 160k (national big law), depending on the firm. I'd say the average salary growth is 5-15k/year, depending on the firm and your class year.chevelle64 wrote:Im currently a couple years in at a major market biglaw shop and am considering a move to a smaller(ish) city for lifestyle reasons
