Currently working at a small firm doing general corp/securities compliance/etc.
Want to publish article to beef up my resume.
Is it advisable for me to choose a topic within my field (ie: gen. corp/securities/etc.) or is there any value in publishing an article in a field I'm interested in but isn't directly relevant to what I'm doing (ie: implications of gov. regulation in X industry or w/e)? I probably wouldn't be pursuing a career in "gov. regulation in X industry", but think it's pretty interesting and may have some indirect implications in my current field. Would writing this article be helpful for me at all if I'm looking to lateral to another firm in my current field or should I stay within my expertise?
