Hi everyone; I got this email this morning regarding a 1L SA:
"Members of the Recruiting Committee are most impressed with your resume. The firm traditionally considers hiring only a few first year students. If you are considered, we will contact you. Otherwise, we encourage you to resubmit your resume for consideration during our fall recruitment program by following the procedures established by your law school career services office."
It was sent by a specific person's email but doesn't address me by name; would it be advisable/appropriate for me to reply to this kind of email (thanking them again for their consideration or something to that effect) or just wait for them to reach out again? Also, anyone have experience getting these sorts of emails before?
Appreciate ya.

Unfortunately this is most likely a "contact us next year for OCI e-mail."Anonymous User wrote:Hi everyone; I got this email this morning regarding a 1L SA:

Yeah do not reply to this email that was copy pasted to you as soon as the recruiter saw you were a 1L

They will contact you if they want to interview you. You'll get used to deciphering these messages soon enough.

Re: 1L SA Email -- Should I reply?
I see no harm in replying in a couple of weeks reiterating continued interest. The email is definitely copy pasted and following-up has a very small chance of success, but i see no way in which a firm would be put off by a thoughtful statement of continued interest.
Definitely don't reply in the short term with a "Thanks, will do!" or anything - then you've just given away your cover to follow-up and forced yourself to send a double email if you want to do so down the road.
