Neal & Harwell No-Offers Entire Summer Class
Nashville office of Neal & Harwell just let us know (last week) they would not be extending offers to any of the summer class. No indication of this was given throughout the summer. Was constantly told of the firm's strong financial position, evidenced by the recent change in office space, etc. Thought any rising 2Ls should be made aware.

Isn't Neal & Harwell one office (Nashville) with about 20 attorneys? I am surprised they even took 3 SAs. Best of luck. Nashville market is tough.

Sorry, that sucks. I hope you land on your feet.
In defense of the firm, though, 30-attorney operations are small enough that one partner defection or a couple key client departures can really mess with the bottom line. At that size they shouldn't really be expected to offer everyone that ever summered there. Of course, it's certainly possible they're just jerks.

Sorry to hear that, Neal & Harwell lost a pretty significant amount of people to Waller in the past two years, and they had no business taking on 3 SAs if that's what the class was. I would encourage you to try and network around with the larger firms in Nash (Bass, Baker, Bradley, Waller) and even some mid-level firms (Burr, Butler Snow, FBT). Neal & Harwell is well-known and still respected so spending a summer there may help you with the bigger firms.
