Hi all. Current biglaw M&A junior associate thinking about applying to lateral to DC market for personal reasons.
Do many offices in DC have teams that run deals (as opposed to specialists)? Which have the best reputation in terms of humanity and/or caliber of work?
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

DC is not big on deal work. Only firm I know with a very significant Corp presence is Latham. I think Dechert and Wilson Sonsini also have Corp work in DC (or, at least, associates who do Corp work that originates from other offices)

Thanks - does Latham's deal practice originate in the DC office?
Also - I've heard that Skadden may have an active deal practice in DC. Do you know?

Latham M&A associate here. Yes, it originates in the DC office. It is mostly PE focused.TTTooKewl wrote:Thanks - does Latham's deal practice originate in the DC office?

Hogan Lovells, Skadden, and Latham all have solid DC Corp practices.

Covington has some deal work. Mostly in life sciences, but they have probably 10-20 associates in DC doing it and are reportedly looking to expand a bit.Anonymous User wrote:DC is not big on deal work.
