Anyone know of any firms currently looking to hire 3Ls to start fall 2017?

I think it's mostly over, at least for NYC. Anecdotally, 3L hiring was much, much weaker this year than it was last year at my T-14. People got positions, but most of them were in the top 10% of the class. For average kids, it was pretty fruitless.

Reviving this. By any miraculous chance, does anybody know if there will be firms hiring 3Ls during the spring semester based on past years?

Firms don't have a set time when they look for 3Ls. I think it's more of an "as-needed" basis based on when they get a better estimate of their summer class (ie: someone reneges, someone declines offer due to personal reasons, a practice area is busier than expected, etc.) Keep checking Simplicity throughout the year. I remember I had a decent amount of interviews throughout the year.

Note: Of everyone I know who struck out, those who kept hustling are at Biglaw (or equivalent position). Many of them received offers after graduation. Never stop hustling.
