Does anyone practice, or know someone who practices, commercial or business related litigation AND corporate transactional law simultaneously? Or is this pretty much unheard of?

I am straight corporate, but on transactions I work with restructuring attorneys. Those same restructuring attorneys will also be writing motions and going to court. Bankruptcy is a generalist practice that just includes both transactional and litigation matters. They're probably the only ones in biglaw. Maybe some L&E attorneys do too

Oh, ok. I actually practice primarily bankruptcy and I do some commercial litigation. I am would like to also do corporate work. Is there any chance of making such a transition?

Well if you go to a big law firm that does bankruptcy you can get involved with more transactional matters. I don't know about making the move to straight corporate work

I do both - got hired as a corporate and litigation associate. However, I'm at a small firm (just 20 attorneys), and make less $ than big law. Would be happy to chip in if you are interested in small firm practices.

Look at mid-sized firms. It's easier to jump into different projects at firms other than biglaw.

Sometimes media / entertainment / advertising practice groups do combinations of both.

Antitrust M&A work is somewhat similar. Those lawyers are involved from early stages of a deal in assessing antitrust risk, drafting antitrust risk provisions, and then moving into investigations and possibly trials if the deal gets challenged.

Awesome, this is what I was looking for. If you don't mind me asking, did you start out in litigation or corporate? Also about how much of your time is devoted to each? What industries do you primary deal with?

I do both as a Health Care Attorney at a big law firm--one of the reasons I chose to go to my particular firm. I'll do diligence work on health care deals but also do doc review for health care litigation cases. People in my group are subject matter experts on all things health care so while we fall under the corporate umbrella, it's not uncommon to also engage in litigation practice.

I think if the firm is organized in such a way that some practices are industry-based and not practice group based (including bankruptcy), you're more likely to engage in both contexts.
