SEC Chair Honor or V150 Big Law
Hi everyone,
3L considering SEC chair honors program or big law at top firm in Jersey/V150 firm. I externed at the SEC and found my life to be boring doc review and mindless research topics whereas summer at the firm was fun and the work seemed at least more engaging.
BUT everyone seems to say government is the way to go. I think I'd go insane doing mindless work but maybe the work is more engaging full time? and the benefits and job security seem a lot better than big law.
any input?

If you're from Jersey and have plans of staying there for the long term, then Lowenstein (which I'm guessing is your "v150," lol) is a better option.

How do you know a firm is V150? Didn't know vault ranks below 100 existed.

If you found the work you were doing at the SEC boring, then it puzzles me as to why you would consider working there. Further, you probably should wait to post something like this until you actually have the options to make. The SEC will not be handing out offers for a little while. Enjoy your V150 law firm, should you actually even have an offer there.Anonymous User wrote:Hi everyone,

Also not actually a 3L based on your other posts. You don't have to reveal anything about yourself, of course, but inaccurate info is going to lead to unhelpful results.
