Fund Formation / Management - In-House and Outside NYC
Hoping to hear from those who've worked in fund formation/investment management groups and have gone in-house and/or have lateraled somewhere outside of NYC. Would like to go in-house at some point, but also interested in getting out of NYC at some point (ideally SF). Not sure how limited opportunities might be. Would love to hear any experiences/thoughts/details.

Get a lot of lateral recruiting for SF of late (feel like it's replaced Texas/DC recruiting from the past year or two) and have seen a handful of in-house posts (but not sure how credible those are for non-CA based associates).Anonymous User wrote:Hoping to hear from those who've worked in fund formation/investment management groups and have gone in-house and/or have lateraled somewhere outside of NYC. -Former NYC associate, current non-NYC (or SF) associate. *Have heard to beware of Kirkland SF, but have had relatively (for Kirkland) good firsthand experiences with at least 1 attorney there. And, have not looked into it deeply--zero interest in an SF move personally.
