Asking for a W-9 form for CB reimbursement?
Submitted my NALP form and receipts to a firm, and was asked to fill out a W-9 form before they will process my reimbursement. Is this really necessary? From my mere 6 weeks in fed tax I am under the impression that reimbursements are recovery of capital...are they setting me up to report it as taxable income? This is the only firm that has asked me to do this.

It's weird, but just fill it out.
Also, I'm not sure where you are getting the "reimbursements are recovery of capital" bit. See §61.

Arnold and Porter asked for this. Just fill it out dude whatever.
On a related note, two of the firms I sent my reimbursement info to never got back to me. Both big NY firms. Is this normal? Should I email recruiting and make sure I'll getting my check?
