Same bonus as a stub year, e.g. like $1500 post-tax
Also curious about this.

You'd get the same bonus as a first year stub? Not your class year? What if you are coming to the firm after two clerkships, as a third year? Are you sure it wouldn't just be a pro-rated share of the typical third year associate bonus?
The person asking stated they were a second year - first year and second year bonus amounts are same. I'm sure same logic applies to 3rd years.
++

While i don't have the anecdata to back this up, i'm otherwise as positive as one can be that you just get $25k pro rated by your time worked at the firm, so probably more like $2800 post-tax.

Are other firms going to match Cahill? How is Cahill still ranked like 40 something on vault.

Have you ever even heard of someone working at Cahill? lol I'm pretty sure it's not a real firm.

Next thing I know this anon is going to try and convince me that Troutman Sanders is an actual law firm. Like people actually pay a place called Troutman Sanders to do legal work for them. I wish.

50, actually. It's a firm that basically does one thing and one thing only. That practice has been profitable the past few years, but it's also the one that will get pwned especially hard on a down swing. And no, firms don't match Cahill b/c the firms that compete with Cahill for talent are not market setters.

FWIW I'm on a white collar matter with a team from Cahill as one of the co-counsel. It's a big case and some other co-counsel include one of w&C/KVN, two v10 firms, and then another 2 firms in v40 range. Giving groups because I don't want to out myself.

So in other words, Cahill is a shitty firm, and no one is going to match. Gotcha.

Bumping this. A&P (well, now APKS) sent out bonus memos today. I'm a 4th year with good reviews and got full market for just over 2200 hours. I assume folks who hit2000 hours got the same, but haven't heard word yet.

When do bonuses actually get paid out or does that vary from firm to firm.

Varies - I've seen as early as the day they are announced (~12/1) and as late as March. Firms tend to be consistent year over year though, so you can often get a pretty good estimate based on past years' memos.
