What is the K&L Gates NY Office like reputationally and culturally?
Can anyone who has worked for/with this office tell me anything about it? I know K&L is a great firm overall but the NY office is really small and I'm wondering if the name would be that beneficial if the accompanying work wasn't particularly high level. Thanks!

I'm admittedly a little out of the loop since I was choosing between law firms last year and I have forgotten a lot of stuff, but I remember my impression at the time being that K&L Gates is one of those firms that you don't want to go to unless you have to. Unstable financially, reputation for no-offers and stealth layoffs, sweatshop atmosphere, etc. I wouldn't take the offer if I had another one.Anonymous User wrote:I know K&L is a great firm overall

i would be very careful about going to k&l gates. it's a firm that routinely no offers a handful (sometimes more) of its summer associate class in its US offices.
i wouldn't accept an offer from k&l gates unless i had literally no other choice.

I worked as an SA at K&L's main competitor in Pittsburgh. Saw a handful of kids at K&L laid off as a matter of course. Would never accept a K&L offer unless it was my only offer. Obviously, if it's your only offer--congrats! You have a high paying job! But that's about it
