Follow up with the recruiter or the interviewer?
Had a CB interview last week with my first choice. The interview went well and I can tell one of the partners really, really liked me. The offer from my second choice will expire by this week, so I want to follow up with them ASAP. Should I contact the recruiter who arranged my interview or the partner who I had a really good conversation with?

Recruiter. This isn't something to bother a partner with. Let the recruiter know your deadline.

Thanks. It is a satellite office with a summer class of three people. Does this change your answer?lawman84 wrote:Recruiter. This isn't something to bother a partner with. Let the recruiter know your deadline.

Not the person who gave you the initial advice, but I would still go to the recruiter. Based on your original post it sounds like these two firms are your top choices, with the one you're waiting to hear from your number one. I would give the recruiter a call or email and express that you have an offer you're interested in, but through your research, their firm is your number one choice. Letting them know they're your number one choice may make their decision easier, especially given that they typically only take three summers. If you do this, you should accept the offer as soon as they extend it. This strategy should only be used for the firm that is truly your number one and you would take over any other firm.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks.
