best response to this email?
I emailed an alum of my law school at a big NY firm I massmailed a few weeks ago. The firm participated in my OCI, but I was not selected for an interview (I go to a 100% preselect T25 school). The alum emailed back asking if I participated in the program and whether the firm selected me for a screening interview. Other than just saying "No I was not selected for a screening interview" is there a specific way I can tailor my response in a positive light?

Re: best response to this email?
It was nice of the alum to follow up. I'd say something like: "No, I was not selected for a screening interview. I'm still looking for a summer associate position. [Maybe provide a bit of detail here about what firms you've interviewed with, if any.] I'd welcome any advice you have."Anonymous User wrote:I emailed an alum of my law school at a big NY firm I massmailed a few weeks ago. Honestly, probably not. Just say you weren't selected for a screener. I'm not sure what T25 you go to, but if the firm has NY/CHI/LA offices and you wanted NYC in a heavy Chicago-bent school (think ND) or LA (USC/UCLA), then it is easy to sometimes slip through the cracks. (aka the 10 screeners they gave were basically for students wanting to work not in NYC)
Worst thing that the alum can do is just not reply to your e-mail that took 5 mins to type up.
