Email canceling call backs? Forum

I would like to pull out of the call backs that I am not considering. Does anyone have any templates on the best/nicest way to do so?

I just pulled out of 2. They can be really short. I just wrote that I decided to pursue another offer and thanked them for the interview opportunity. Simple and to the point. They won't really care tbh.

I canceled 3 CBs by email. Thank you for your time & consideration of me as a candidate, regretfully I am writing to cancel my callback with your firm, as I have received an offer from another firm. Thanks again. Etc. be prepared for them to ask where you are going, 2/3 of mine did.

I'd go thru with the cbs. Unless you're totally sure about your firm/up against a time deadline, there's no reason to cancel if you feel regret.

You wouldn't cancel a callback you actually regret cancelling...You're writing "regretfully," "unfortunately" etc to show respect and set the tone of the email as something rather than relief. If you are sure you wouldn't take an offer at the firm over a current offer, then politely cancelling a CB is the right thing to do for everyone involved.

what would you suggest? "Hi firm X, just dropping a note to let you know I'm cancelling because I got an offer from firm Y and I'd much rather work there." Or, even better, go on the CB and waste the recruiters time, your time, and every single interviewer's time?
