About Mass Mailing...

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Aug 18, 2016 8:20 pm

1) Would my application be considered if I mass mail a firm that did not select me for an OCI interview?
2) Would my application be considered if I mass mail a firm that selected me for an OCI interview but did not offer me a CB?
3) I've been reading on here that we should contact alumni at the firms we mass mail. So do I basically tell the alum that I applied for a summer associate position and would be grateful if they could assist me with getting an interview? Should I send them my application materials too? Does anyone have a template for how this email should sound?
4) There are firms that I mass mailed in July but have not heard from. Should I contact recruiting for an update before getting in contact with an alum?

I'd appreciate if you could answer as many questions as you have the answer to! Please number so I know which question your answer correlates to. Thanks for your help all! :)

I would think that if you already did a screener and didn't get a CB you need to move on from that firm.

What's the protocol on follow up emails? I'm at about the 3 week stretch for a few firms, and am going to reach back out soon. For the firms I emailed, I'm planning on replying to the initial email.

What should I do about the firms with online applications? Just email the NALP recruiting contact?

Does anyone know who we should address a cover letter to? The hiring partner or recruiting contact?

What about when applying to jobs on Symplicity?

Usually the recruiting contact on NALP unless the job posting on Symplicity specifies otherwise.
