Quick paced OCI Review
My OCI screener was only like 10 mins instead of a full 20. Is this a good sign?
He asked a few ? And I did.
Good sign that it was so quick and short?

Did you start a new thread to ask if it was a good sign that your interview didn't drag on painfully?!
yes, that's probably good!

I'm not sure what you're asking here. If it was actually 20 minutes but "felt like" 10 and you had a good back-and-forth, then yeah that's a good sign. If it was actually 10 minutes, that probably isn't a good sign. You should be able to take up a full 20 minute screener with questions of your own easily.

It actually was 10 mins. My questions were very short.

Re: Quick paced OCI Review
Probably not a good sign honestly. Some interviewers intentionally leave a lot of space to ask questions in an attempt to gauge your interest in the firm and get a feel for your personality in more of a vacuum than if they just grill you nonstop. That being said, there's really no way to know for sure so just hang in there for a CB/ding.

I've had a screener interview end a minute early and have gotten a CB but 10 minutes is a whole different thing.

Usually the 10-minute interviews are for those who had no shot to begin with (GPA). I only know one person who had a few of those, and it was so short because it was a waste of time anyhow.

Well it was more like 13 mins to be exact. He just asked really short questions and I gave answers.
He asked about 7
I asked about 3

I asked about 3

Oops, sorry... I misunderstood. Yeah, ten mins is not great. More questions next time. Also start out with small-talk/chitchat like normal humans! That always brings you to 5 mins at the start.

Yea that's not good. Only having 3 questions ready and not even being able to come up with any others on the fly is a pretty big indication of any or all of (i) lack of research (ii) lack of interest (iii) lack of conversational ability. Again, only time will tell, but I would assume it's a ding unless your GPA is through the roof.

Well I'll ask more questions next time. Also, how long does it usually take for a callback? Some can be as quick as a day or two but what's the absolute latest I should wait by? October, November? I know NALP gives until December but does it really take that long? Its not a highly ranked V.

What difference does it make? You should proceed as if you were rejected unless and until you hear otherwise.goodman1 wrote:Well I'll ask more questions next time. Re: Quick paced OCI Review
If you learned everything you needed to know about the firm in 13 minutes, and they learned everything they need to know about you, why would they bring you in for more interviews? This doesn't sound promising, you should hit up your career services for some mocks.goodman1 wrote:Well I'll ask more questions next time. Also, how long does it usually take for a callback? This was just my first screener I have more. I'll ask more questions to make it last about 20 mins next time. Really not that difficult to grasp!

Re: Quick paced OCI Review
Had a 12-minute interview (due to the previous one running super late) that led to a CB. If it felt good and your grades were typical for the firm's SA class, you're probably fine.
