Clerking after summer - - V50
With a recent offer for SA, I was encouraged to "clerk" with the firm after the SA. From what I can gather from some random info online though, the salary for clerking is often very low like below $30k a year. Anybody can confirm this is true for V50 as well? If so, what are some alternatives if I want to do a part time law job with either bigger pay or more helpful experience? Apparently I am expected to pick up at this same firm after my graduation. Not interested in non- legal jobs as I have that option available as of right now.

Have you asked the firm what they'll pay (or have they indicated that the pay would be different from the summer)?
Also I'm not sure what "expected to pick up at this same firm after my graduation" means - I thought that was the point of doing a SA.

This is clerking during your 3L year, right? My firm offers this to SAs as well. It's a flexible schedule capped at 20 hours/week (though most come in well under that) and it pays $50/hour. I can't think a program like this would be salaried as OP indicated; I imagine it is also hourly wherever you are.
I wouldn't clerk for a firm that you already know you won't be going to after law school - but if you are going there, there's literally nowhere else that can offer you "more helpful experience" than clerking and getting work from the same attorneys you'll work with as a real lawyer.

OP here. Yes, clerking clerking 3L year. And yes, plan is to return to the firm for first year after graduation as expected.
I was referring to other useful experience like USPTO or EPA or FDA or the like - - some "other" useful experience. I guess I am puzzling whether more experience at the same firm or more variety of relevant experience is more helpful for career development (both for the same firm and potentially lateral move).
