One fact about post-2L OCI recruiting is that they expect you to have a clear idea about your area of specialization/the practice area for which they're hiring.

However, another truism is that most interviewers think "we know/presume you don't know anything about the practice of law, we'll train you, etc. So don't pretend like you know anything or I'll reject you for being fake."

Given the foregoing, how are we supposed to express our interest in, say, Corp/Securities if our coursework touched on, e.g., WKSI shelf-registrations but our work experience until now obviously never has?
