I graduated from GULC last year, took the Feb Bar, and am applying now.
My ultimate goal is to be partner at a plaintiff firm (not securities, just mass tort/environmental). I looked up a bunch but they don't seem to have openings or anything. Should I just cold mail firms?
Would it be better to try to get a government position for a few years and then apply to such firms? I guess it would be easier with the experience, plus I would get to skip the bitch work of low level attorneys and get hired at a higher level.
Also, regarding government work, I'm just looking at USAJobs, Senate Bulletin, and House email. Are there any other websites I should be looking at? The agency websites just redirect me to USAJobs.
What should my job search strategy be??
where should I be applying? Forum

What on earth have you been doing for the past 15 months? (apologies if you had cancer or were nursing a family member w/ cancer). You should apply to every firm for which you might consider working. Go to networking events. I have no useful information regarding government work.

Re: where should I be applying?
I couldn't take the summer bar because I was taking summer classes. After classes ended, I took like 3 months off, and then started studying for the Feb bar. (I couldn't apply for gov jobs during that time because they all required bar membership, and firm jobs wouldn't have hired me that far in advance). After the Feb bar, I took the March MPRE, took April off, got the results in May and started applying.
