I know there's a thread with interviewing tips in the compiled resources thread, but I'm hoping to get a further understanding on how to be a good interviewer.
As a rising 2L median student (top 50%) and a transfer student to a T25, my credentials are obviously not enough. With the few interviews I do get through OCI or elsewhere, I usually get too nervous and mess up whether it's resorting to rambling canned answers or choking.
What are some methods or ways to be in the zone during interviews? Talk less or talk more? And as a naturally stoic and taciturn person, should I "fake it till I make it" or just be myself?
When it comes to actually doing the work, I have no problems. My biggest hurdle is the interview and anyone that can offer me advice I will greatly appreciate it.

rising 2L means you are about to be a 2L, no?

Yes, fake it. Unfortunately, being yourself as an introvert can hurt you. People perceive a lack of excitement about the position. It's stupid but there you go.
I have no real advice on dealing with nervousness. Your options are either (1) consider benzos or beta-blockers, or (2) screw up your courage, shut out the noise, and get it done. That's a pretty useful skill to have in practice anyway, if you're a person prone to nervousness.

calm down, smile, and make eye contact. practice so your canned answers sound more natural. seeing yourself in a mirror helps catch posture problems.

I was in the same boat, completely whiffed at OCI. Had much more success in lateral interviews. Above poster is correct about faking it -- have to conceal your introversion as much as you can. Another key thing -- be proactive and make the interview a conversation. Instead of just answering what's asked, then waiting for the next question, take the lead in directing the conversation. Answer the question, then follow up with a question to the interviewer that is somewhat related to what was asked.
