Staying on during 3L year
I've heard of 2L SAs that have been asked to stay on and continue working during 3L year of law school. Is this something that is appropriate to bring up once you've received an offer? Or does this only happen at select firms?
I'm not sure who could even make this decision.

They will either have a program for it or they won't, no harm in asking once you receive an offer. I'd ask someone in recruiting if you are just generally interested or if there is a particular matter you are on that is ongoing and needs the extra body you could go through the partner on that.

Nah, my firm has some informal stuff before. I don't think it hurts to ask.2014 wrote:They will either have a program for it or they won't, no harm in asking once you receive an offer. Interested in this as well. Do they typically pay you hourly, or how does that work?Desert Fox wrote:Nah, my firm has some informal stuff before. I dunno, I wasn't asked to do it, but we had a summer we tried to bring in for some stuff. I imagine it was hourly, no idea the rate. It didn't really work out well, I think we only did it for one project, but I think it could work better in teh future.Anonymous User wrote:Interested in this as well. Re: Staying on during 3L year
I don't think we had the work load and the busy bee midlevel pretty much redid all teh work which defeated the original purpose. The original purpose was for a partner to get cheap work for his cheapass client.Anonymous User wrote:What didn't work well about it?Desert Fox wrote:I dunno, I wasn't asked to do it, but we had a summer we tried to bring in for some stuff. Any advice on how to approach asking to do this?
