Update Resume before Callback?

Post by BasilHallward » Tue Jul 19, 2016 12:46 pm

I have a callback interview scheduled for a firm in my home/target market later this week. I really like the firm. I locked in the interview before summer and before second semester grades dropped. My GPA dropped .1. The firm has yet to ask for an updated resume, transcript etc. Should I send an updated resume to the recruiting coordinator before the callback, or wait until requested? Or does it even matter?

If the only update is negative, I don't see any good reason to provide them new info unless they request it.

I believe you have an affirmative "duty" to update your resume to all outstanding applications following releases of grades. I would send the recruiting coordinator the updated materials a bit before the callback, as this is not a material difference. They obviously liked you for reasons beyond your grades, and this is not a major change. I would play this one by the books and kill the interviews. Good luck!
