CCBA Minority Job Fair 2016

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Jul 13, 2016 12:52 am

Hello,

This year's fair is on August 12. Would anyone who attended last year like to share their experience/tips with us?

Also, I am scheduled to interview with Mayer Brown, McDermott, Michael Best & Friedrich, Barack Ferrazzano, Thompson Coburn, Schiff Hardin, and Litter Mendelson. A lot of these are also coming to my school and I don't even meet their GPA criteria listed on Simplicity-- is it worth going to Chicago from NY anyway? CCBA didn't require grades when we placed our bids, which is probably why I got so many interviews.

Thanks in advance.

Median Numbers, T3 school. I only had a shot due to relevant full-time work experience before law school. That and a lot of networking.

Not original OP, but I heard back with an offer about 24 hours after CB. Released the offer last week. Good luck!

What do you mean by "a lot"? I had 8 interviews and dropped out, so alone I opened up 8 spots. I don't remember there being that many emails about last-minute openings. Maybe 2-3?

I received an email maybe 1-2 days before the fair about openings for 10+ firms. I think most had more than one openings as well. iirc there were over 20 openings last minute.

Thank you for releasing the offer! I also did my CB for Corporate, but has been radio silence for two weeks. Vedder is my top choice but the silence is killing me. Do you know what is the regular timeline for corporate? Anything outside 48 hrs window is an auto ding?
