What are some unicorn jobs?
Question purely out of curiosity.
Based on TLS, my understanding of a unicorn job is that HYS grads get a disproportionate amount of them, and that they seem to involve prestigious government or international posts.
What are some of these mythical jobs? Is DOJ honors one of those "unicorn" positions?"

This. I know a SLS grad who is a full timer at an unaccredited scam law school. She got that poast straight out of law school. I don't think she actually practices law and probably isn't cut out for it. One of those book smart folks.glitched wrote:I'd say academia.

The thing about academia is that, if you do need/want to leave for any reason, real-world exit options are very limited. What's she going to do when that law school closes in 5-10 years?yay wrote:This. I know a SLS grad who is a full timer at an unaccredited scam law school. They all have HLS/YLS/SLS degrees. If they can't get a job, it's because of their pride, not because there aren't law jobs around.Torts Illustrated wrote:The thing about academia is that, if you do need/want to leave for any reason, real-world exit options are very limited. I think the ability of HYS grads to just get any job is overstated. They can probably get jobs more easily than those from lower ranked schools, but its not really all that easy.
I am a lawyer at sports (one of the major 4) team. I'd say this would likely be considered a unicorn job.

I think you're overestimating how easy it is to get a real legal job after spending years as a useless academic at a shitty law school, whether or not you went to H/Y/S.yay wrote:They all have HLS/YLS/SLS degrees.
