PLIP v. BADF v. OCI Forum

Hi everyone,

I am a 2L exclusively targeting the Bay Area for next summer and have strong ties to it. I am interested in patent prosecution, patent counseling, portfolio management, and tech transactions. I have no interest in doing patent litigation. I am ~top 20% at a T14 (not Berkeley) with a PhD in Chem/Bio.

I am doing PLIP and BADF in addition to my OCI. I have received 13 preselects and 4 alternates at BADF. I have also received 17 preselects and 1 alternate at PLIP. 2 firms have selected me for both fairs. My question is where should I interview with my top choice firms? I have heard that BADF is super competitive and much harder than PLIP but it is an entire week earlier than PLIP and my OCI. I'm not sure about how easy it would be to convert a screener into a callback at PLIP compared to my OCI.

My school's OCI, which is going to have most if not all of these firms that have preselected me, is pure lottery so although I can make an educated guess as to where I should be bidding firms to get screeners it is not a sure thing. Regardless of this should I still choose to interview with my top choice firms at my school's OCI instead of PLIP or BADF?

TL;DR: T-14 (not Berkeley), ~top 20%, PhD in Chem/Bio, bidding only Bay Area with strong ties. Despite my school's OCI being purely lottery should I still elect to interview with my top choice firms at OCI instead of PLIP or BADF? My OCI is also a week after BADF but around the same time as PLIP.
