They probs didn't maximize their allowances and got a refund in April because too much was withheld. Also, having to pay federal + state + city + social security + medicaid is a bitch, even if you can itemize later.PeanutsNJam wrote:Was this at 160k? $87,960 after tax? 45% tax?Anonymous User wrote:3665 biweekly, last summer.

I was $160k in NYC last year, took no extra exemps, got ~$4200 bimonthly, so who knows what the fuck is going on here.wiz wrote:They probs didn't maximize their allowances and got a refund in April because too much was withheld. Bimonthly is slightly more than biweekly, but not that much. Also sounds like you didn't do enough hookers and blow.Mlk&Ckies wrote:I was $160k in NYC last year, took no extra exemps, got ~$4200 bimonthly, so who knows what the fuck is going on here.wiz wrote:They probs didn't maximize their allowances and got a refund in April because too much was withheld. How much did I save? Nothing until I got my tax return, so about $5k I think.
