in-house ibank vs pe
I'm a 4th year m&a associate looking to go-inhouse. The jobs recruiters reach out to me about tend to be either investment banks or private equity firms. Does anyone here have any insight as to the differences in going either of those routes, both from a day-to-day perspective and a compensation perspective? Would love to hear your thoughts, particularly if you've had similar options and chose one of those routes. Thanks!

Re: in-house ibank vs pe
I would say "where" matters much less than "what"
In-house compliance at PE could be terrible, in-house M&A advisory counsel at bank could be great. and vice-versa. figure out what you like about what you're doing about your current gig and what you don't like, and look for a specific job that sounds better
