Feel sick at work
I'm currently in my third week of my summer position and I think I ate something bad. My stomach feels atrocious, should I tough it out for the rest of the day? Or would it look bad if I ask to go home? It's not really a busy day for me today, if they counts for anything. Thanks for any input

Let me put it this way: if I was a lawyer in your office and I caught a stomach bug because you didn't want to "look bad" by going home early, I would be real pissed.

This. Don't ask, just go. If you feel guilty, consider: couldn't the alternative be much, much worse?Anonymous User wrote:Go home and let your secretary know.

Yeah half of the SA experience is realizing you're going to be treated like an adult professional. And adults don't ask permission to go home when sick - they tell who needs to know that they're leaving because they are sick, and that you will or will not likely be available via email or phone if needed. Then you leave.BaiAilian2013 wrote:This. Don't ask, just go. If you feel guilty, consider: couldn't the alternative be much, much worse?Anonymous User wrote:Go home and let your secretary know.

Also, everyone knows you're actually just wicked hung over, but no one will call you on it so don't sweat it.#NotACop wrote:I'm currently in my third week of my summer position and I think I ate something bad. Tell your secretary and bounce. It is highly likely no one notices. I showed up three hours late to my SA one time after being out late the night before. Was freaking out. No one noticed.
