Top-Law-Schools.com 2016 Summer Associate Champion Challenge - Offers are Revocable but Celebrity is Forever
Welcome readers of the Legal Employment forum,
Today I would like to inaugurate Day 1 of the 2016 Summer Associate Challenge. If you are bold enough to participate, you could be rewarded handsomely in the form of potentially $5 Amazon gift cards and, much more importantly, internet fame. As its title implies, this challenge is open to all summer associates currently working at U.S. law firms.
Here's how it works: People will post challenges. The brave and awesome among you will accept some of these challenges. Whoever does the most or the best will, at the end of the summer, be crowned with the mantle of the Greatest Summer Associate of All Time. Do not be concerned with whether participation will cost you an offer - as we all know, biglaw careers tend to be brief and fleeting, but internet fame is forever.
Challenge #1
Wear a full-on tuxedo to the office.
Post below to indicate your acceptance. Prove you did it by posting a pic, anonymously and with your face edited out.

the actual downside to this isn't so much wearing the tux but rather outing yourself as a megaposter SA.

I am fine with entrants doing all their posting ITT anonymously so long as they verify that they have accepted the challenge.pancakes3 wrote:the actual downside to this isn't so much wearing the tux but rather outing yourself as a megaposter SA.

I think that with NYC going to $180, you're gonna have to up that gift certificate to $10.

I was thinking more along the lines of one of us trying to surreptitiously sneak into the bathroom with a duffel to change and take a tux selfie and then you walking in on us - outing us irl.SBL wrote:I am fine with entrants doing all their posting ITT anonymously so long as they verify that they have accepted the challenge.pancakes3 wrote:the actual downside to this isn't so much wearing the tux but rather outing yourself as a megaposter SA.
.0001% chance but ya know... risk averse and all that. apparently someone already flashed someone. this is arguably more embarrassing.

Yeah, let me just pull out that tux I have lying around.
Will a ballgown suffice instead?

It's a shame that this is limited to SA's. Last summer my DA office had to tell an intern that "this isn't prom" because of the red bowtie - black shirt - shiny jacket combo.
