Offer after accepting offer from elsewhere

Post by Anonymous User » Sat May 21, 2016 1:04 am

Long story short. I was offered a position last week (and started this week) which was decent and I decided to take it, despite it not being near my first choice. Previous to that, and six weeks prior, I had a series of interviews with a rather large firm. As the time went by, my thank you for your time and "I'm still interested" letters went ignored I decided to go with small firm.

Large firm HR called today and offers the position. Double the salary of small firm. The question is not whether I should, rather, how do I do so with the least amount of burnt bridges?

Just tell them you got the offer and you're taking it. If salary is really double and the big firm is that much more prestigious then they'll understand (though they may be pissed regardless).
