Career Associate Offer - What are these positions?

Post by Anonymous User » Thu May 19, 2016 9:22 am

I have received an offer as a 'career associate' from a large law firm. Can anyone provide any insight as to whether these jobs will open the door for me to lateral into partner track at another large firm? Or do these positions have a stigma that will close doors?

Yes stigma within firm. But yes to easy lateral to partner track at another firm. Anecdotally, nobody even knows youre not a partner track associate except some people within the firm.

It actually all really depends on the firm. I'm currently in a similar program. I only know 2 firms that have it - Orrick and R&G. PM me if you want more info. I'm happy to share.
