Have a lateral interview coming up there (litigation). Anyone work there? What's your life like? Thanks so much!

Which group in litigation? That matters a lot.

No idea about lit, but my friend in corporate leaves at 10:00pm. Every day. On average. It's prestigious as hell, but it's a sweatshop.

No idea about tobacco litigation but a friend who works in one of their other litigation groups works regularly 10-12 hours a day and weekends are definitely not sacred. I think he likes it but he's also in a situation where he has to like it so... You know. I wouldn't say he is happy but he's also not actively unhappy.

Needless to say, he sees his girlfriend on Sundays and that's about it for his personal life. I occasionally ask him to do things... He doesn't/can't for most of them but I talk to him still about once a month.

The pay is good, or at least before living in Buckhead and student loans do their work, and he is on track to bill around 1900--which I take it is above average but by no means excellent. I think 2000 is the expected with a lot of the culture there in his class year, at least, trying their hardest to get above that.

But your mileage will vary, I'm sure.
