Hi all:
Midlevel litigator in a major market thinking about returning home to Colorado. Good credentials (T6, clerkship, etc.). Firm unsurprisingly doesn't have a Denver office, so I'm trying to get some information on firms in Denver. I'm mostly interested in firms with a reputation for a decent quality of life, though I imagine I won't have much trouble finding a place where I'll bill less than my current firm.
Curious about the following firms, or if there are any that I'm missing:
Brownstein Hyatt
Wheeler Trigg
Davis Graham & Stubbs
Faegre
Holland & Hart
I know that there are some biglaw satellites in Denver (Hogan, Gibson, MoFo, A&P, etc.), but I'm not particularly interested in moving home just to keep working similar hours to what I'm doing now.
I admit that I'm not particularly knowledgeable about the market, so I'm sure there are places I'm missing. I don't care a ton about the "prestige" of the firm, beyond that it's a solid, stable place to work.
Thanks!

Anecdotally, I heard WTO likes clerkship so you might get better response from them. To get Gibson, you'd probably need a Circuit clerkship.
No idea on quality of life but also interested to hear about these firms as well.

OP here. Bumping to see if there are any other thoughts. Would also be interested to hear about the local biglaw offices, and their hours/quality of life compared to places like NYC/DC/SF/LA.

I know some WTO folks. Hours don't seem terrible, but it seems like they do a LOT of work outside of the state. Something like 70% of their cases are outside of Colorado. Traveling for work fucking sucks, at least in my humble opinion.Anonymous User wrote:OP here. Bumping to see if there are any other thoughts. Depends whether you can bill for it. If you can, its awesome.Anonymous User wrote:Traveling for work fucking sucks, at least in my humble opinion.Anonymous User wrote:OP here. I thought that way before I had a family. Now I'd rather be home.Lacepiece23 wrote: Depends whether you can bill for it. If you can, its awesome.
