Second year M&A attorney at a big firm. I was offered a position at one of the Big 4 accounting firms to come over as a senior in their Transfer Pricing group. Does anyone have any familiarity with this route? I know once you go tax, you never go back. I am attempting to decide whether going down this route would be a mistake or a good call as an exit option.
Any and all advice is appreciated.

I have followed this thread closely. I do not see any relevance between my question and its substance.Anonymous User wrote:This seems like a must read: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 4&t=261392

Just know that transfer pricing is an extremely specialized group even within tax. You will not get the typical "tax exit options" because TP is really about economics of a transaction and not about tax law. The companies might have a few TP attorneys but the majority of TP work is done by economists.
Disclaimer: no work experience in TP but know people who do and took a class on TP.

Re: BigLaw to Big 4? Worth it?
caveat: I don't have any direct knowledge of transfer pricing groups, so please take this was a grain of salt.
I am a corporate biglaw 3rd year who did undergrad -> 2 years at big 4 advisory -> law school -> biglaw. I think about going back to big4 frequently but I am not sure how much better it would be. It is still a client-service business that means dealing with difficult clients and unexpected weekend work (although big4 is so big and this was just my experience). Just keep in mind that while it seems like a better gig, it could potentially be more of the same given the nature of the business with (i'm assuming) worse pay.
